We have mixture of playing ability in the girls teams and work on all aspects of football during their training sessions. We will add you to the team WhatsApp group where all the team information regarding training and matches will be provided. All players are required to attend weekly training and be available for matches.

Juniors – Boys

Players Assessment(Trial)

All new players will be observed over a 4 week period before confirming whether they will play in our age group teams or development centre. We have limited places available in each age group so we regularly assess players using the below criteria. We aim to provide all players an equal chance to join the team. At the end of the assessment we will provide you the outcome where your child has been placed.

Players will be observed on the following criteria:

  • Ability
  • Attendance
  • Attitude
  • Application
  • Behaviour (Including Parents)

Development Centre

If your child isn’t selected to play with in our teams, we will add them to our indoor development centre held at Speedball Football Centre. The development centre provides an opportunity for the children to develop fundamental football skills and learn the basics of the game whilst still enjoying the sessions without the pressure of playing matches against external teams.

Selected Players

Once your place has been confirmed in our age group teams by the team manager you will need to confirm you accept the club guidelines below:

Regular Player Assessments

For existing players we assess players twice a season once at the start in July and then once December. This is to ensure players are continuing to progress and develop. Players are expected to continue working outside of training to support their development. Team managers can provide feedback on areas players can focus on. You can receive feedback on your child’s development from the coach by  dropping a message directly to the coach. Please DO NOT disturb the coaches during training sessions. You can speak to them after each training session has finished.

Membership Fees

Registration fee covers club registration as well as membership fees until the end of the first month. Membership fee are paid via direct debit. We do not accept cash payments. You will receive the link to do this in your confirmation email. All players are required to set up direct debits, if for any reason direct debit is cancelled, your child will not be permitted to take part in training.

Kit

Players do not need to buy club kit until advised by the team manager. They can attend training in any sports clothes. They are required to wear shinpads and football trainers with rubber studs (astro turf).

Matches

Players are required to be available for 80% of all matches. Players who attend training will be given priority for match selection. To cover players being absent we have larger squads than required for match days this means each week some players will not be selected. Players will be rotated depending on review criteria listed above.

We encourage all parents to attend matches home and away. We strongly advise parents NOT to shout instructions from the side lines as this can cause confusion for the players and may contradict the coaches instructions. We believe for the players development it is important they make their own decisions whilst playing. The coach will give feedback before and after the matches as well as at halftime.

Safeguarding Guidelines

The club follows the ‘Respect Guidelines’ and are ‘Let Them Play‘ advocates.

Parents and supporters are requested to avoid standing in front of the main gates or to block other cars from moving in the car park. This will help avoid congestion around the pitches.

Parents/spectators are advised to refrain from shouting instructions from the touchlines and let the juniors enjoy the game of football.

Strictly NO parents/spectators or parents are allowed inside the 3G fencing. Only coaches with club clothing will be allowed inside the fence onto the pitch. If your team does not have a club coaches kit, only one manager/coach will be allowed inside the fence.

These rules are from the pitch landlord and are set due to parents/spectators playing on the pitch with inappropriate footwear causing damage to the pitch.

If you have any further questions regarding Safeguarding you can contact our Club Welfare Officer on welfare@phoenixfc.uk.
