Bradford United Ladies 3-3 Tyersal Ladies

First game of the Season, new division, new players, new kit, new management. An opportunity for Bradford United Ladies to start fresh, and set the foundations for this season.

Both teams had chances to take the lead in the first 15 minutes. Bradford United Ladies were first, with Zahra epic header. A number of changes were made throughout the game which showed how dedicated and enthusiastic the Ladies were. Just before the halftime whistle was blown, the fans rose to their feet as Zahraa Khan scored a stunning long range free kick.

Within 10 minutes of the second half zahra does it again with a header, putting Bradford United Ladies in the lead. Energy levels started to drop, and Tyersal Ladies played a through ball down the channel making it 3-3.

Tough game for the ladies in the heat, but we move on with the games coming thick and fast. A long season ahead.

Bradford United 5-2 Ealandians

After a positive result on Wednesday; Bradford United were back at home hosting newly promoted Ealandians. Another 3 points were required which we got. Wasn’t 100% where we want to be but nevertheless positive progress towards for sure.

Goals win you games and luckily for us, they’re coming through in abundance. A free flowing start saw Brendan get the first of 4 as he was set free by Kas thundering Bradford into the lead. A sloppy moment saw Ealandians level shortly after having created very little. 1-1. A moment of magic saw us regain the lead as Brendan put a 25 yard free kick into top bins to close off the half. 2-1. With the hope of kicking on Bradford did the opposite as they conceded another sloppy goal bringing the half to a close at 2-2.

Team talk was simple. Be patient & the goals will come naturally but to be switched on at the back as sloppiness seemed our biggest threat. 2nd half was one way traffic. Ealandians constantly peppered by Bradford. Wave after wave, Ealandians saw it out. You wonder would it be our day. However, the pressure was just too much. With 10 to go; a flick on from Umar saw Brendan race through to get this 3rd. This pushed Ealandians out leaving more spaces for us to get the 4th & 5th. 3 crucial points.

YAL Supreme Division

Wortley 0-1 Bradford United

Bad day in the office for us. First half was very quiet. A cagey affair; grew into the game towards the end of the half creating 2/3 half chances yet not enough quality shown. 0-0 HT.

Message was simple: step up, both on the ball and off it. 1 goal wins this. 2nd half started the same: lacklustre. Yet mid way in the half, out of very little Umar won a pen. What followed summed our day up. Penalty firstly saved then follow up missed target altogether.

5 minutes later Wortley landed a sucker punch. Simple ball played in behind; we stopped for offside. They didn’t. Fabio made a great saves but Wortley stayed alive to tap the rebound in. Poor one to concede. But summed up our day. Lacklustre and lack of desire.

Tough one to lose but we move on with the games coming thick and fast. A long season ahead. Nothing is won in August.
